Reptiles

SnakeReptiles come in an extremely large variety of different types of animals. There are snakes, lizards, turtles and tortoises. Crocodiles and alligators belong to reptiles too, but they are unsuitable as pets. Reptiles come from all over the world. Some are dangerous to humans, others only eat plants and couldn't kill a fly. Some even have real personalities, just like a cat or dog. They all need proper housing though.

If you live in an area where the climate is close to the climate the animal is supposed to live in, your setup can be quite simple, but if the climate is not the same, you will have to create it in a terrarium, with heating, lights, water and some kind of bottom-material, and perhaps plants.

LizardSome animals are very stationary and don't need that much room in its enclosure, others roam about and needs plenty of space. If the pet enjoys being out and about, it might not need as large a terrarium as it would otherwise need. Snakes really should be able to stretch out in its home, but if it spends most of its time outside in a room, that might not be nessesary.

Some countries have special guidelines on how to keep a pet. Make sure you check them out. Some might be a little wrong because they don't know that much about exotic animals, but its better to err on the right side. In some countries you might also need a special permit in order to keep your pet. Make sure you get one, just in case.
