Having pets of your own can be very rewarding, but don't get a pet just because you like the way it looks. Take your time, and find out as much about the pet as you can before you buy it. The world is full of abandoned cats for instance.

Here are some pictures of different snakes. Snakes come in a large variety of colours, sizes, and habitats. A snake can be a very good pet. Small snakes eat mice, larger ones eat rats or guinea-pigs. Some snakes only feed on lizards or slugs, so make sure you can have a steady supply of their favorite food.
Have a look at these frogs and toads. Frogs and toads usually needs a wetter setup. Make sure you mist them form time to time. Frogs need more water than toads. They usually eats insects, but the larger ones take mice as well.
The Solomon Island Prehensil-tailed Skink is a great pet. It lives its life in trees so make sure it has a place to climb. They eat plants, and some of its favorites are hibiscus-flowers and bananas. Don't forget to give them vitamins and minerals, especially calcium.
A Berber Skink. They live in the desert, so they need sand and something to hide under. They love snails, but will readily eat dog food.
Turtles can be fun too. Some eat meat and some eats plants. These turtles here live mostly on meat and comes from Africa. They are special side-necked turtles.
How about a beautiful Mexican Flame Knee. Spiders are one of the pets that are most hated. More people hate spiders than snakes. Most spiders don't like to be handled, and they are very delicate so make sure you don't drop it.
A ferret can be a great substitute for a cat and a dog. It needs a lot of attention and loves to play with you.
Snails can be found all over the world, but be careful, they need moisture and calcium.
Can a rat really work? Yes it can!
